The new year is here.
Down came the Christmas lights, out went the tree, and all my little Dickens villages got wrapped up till next year. All that work of dragging everything out for a mere few weeks!
And now the wintry January is upon us, seemingly so suddenly, though we’ve had a full year to wait for it. Everyone is supposed to recreate themselves with resolutions and face the new year with hopes for something better—or even something great!
My resolutions are:
- Not to make any resolutions to do things that I will once again fail at.
- Be grateful and appreciative for all that I have.
- Keep a good attitude.
- Be the best I can be.
A few things that I look forward to and will enjoy this year:
- Using my new Le Creuset cookware
- Starbucks peppermint white chocolate mochas—2 pumps, nonfat, no whip
- Good books
- Finding time to write
- Great new recipes
- Finding the most comfortable ski boots ever
Things I do not promise to do, but might and should do:
- Exercise (but I’ve been meaning to…)
- Cut down on salt (I prefer salts to sweets)
- Organize my office and closets (papers are everywhere and what is all that stuff in the guest closet?)
- Send Christmas cards next December (Maybe I should aim to start in the Fall)
And as for you—
What will you do in 2011? I hope you do what is truly best for you, whether that’s making resolutions and following through, or just simply living a good life as it unfolds.
My ABC recipe for 2011 is:
Appreciate
Believe in yourself
Create a good life
Carpe diem!
Happy New Year and cheers!
